About our client:
Our client is looking for a driven Commercial Insurance Specialist who can drive our commercial insurance business. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable and passionate about protecting businesses against unforeseen risks.
Commercial Insurance Specialist:
As the Commercial Insurance Specialist, you will be responsible for new client growth and expansion of the Commercial Insurance lines through outbound prospecting, client contact, networking and sales activities.
Key Accountabilities:
Conducting inbound and outbound calls to prospect and proactively build a sales pipeline, developing marketing plans to promote insurance offerings, and contributing to the achievement of sales, profitability, and growth of the brokerage.
Completing risk assessments and commercial inspections in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
Working with clients to review goals, providing risk management advice and recommendations for coverage, completing policy updates, and documenting required changes.
Conducting policy reviews to identify changing coverage requirements, responding to client inquiries, resolving complaints, and escalating issues as required.
Participating in events to create brand awareness and developing, maintaining, and cultivating community contacts to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities.
Maintain Detailed records of all sales, communication, contacts and client activities within the broker management system
Prepare and submit applications to insurers and negotiate terms when permitted.
Adhere to insurer underwriting rules, documentation requirements, and service standards.
Liaise with underwriters regarding quotations, renewals, and amendments.

To join our team:
You have 2-3 years of experience in commercial insurance sales and business development.
You have a post-secondary education in a related discipline.
You hold a General insurance license( OTL or RIBO)
You have or are willing to work towards the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB)
Knowledge of Applied Rating Service would be an asset
Knowledge of Policy works and SIGXP would be an asset
What you need to know:
You are required to have your own vehicle, valid driver’s license and insurance.
You will travel regularly. This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.
Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends may be required.
You will be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
